A HERO Irish paramedic has "sprang into action" on holiday to save a person from drowning after "falling overboard" from a cruise ship. Rory Foy was on holiday in Honduras when he responded quickly after the incident occurred while the boat was docking in port. Dublin Fire Brigade took to Instagram to update their followers on the rescue.
They wrote: "Rory Foy, who is on holiday in Honduras, sprang into action after a person fell overboard when a cruise ship was docking in port. "Rory, who is a swift water rescue technician, took a lifebuoy thrown by a bystander and swam to the person with it. "Here's hoping the rest of the holiday is quieter.
" Dublin Fire Brigade followers took to the comments to congratulate Rory, hailing him as a "true hero." One said: "Wow true hero." Another one added: "Job Description : Superhero".
