After a successful run of its first season on Hulu, everyone's new favorite legal drama — named after Jay-Z's debut album — is back in session for its second season! Los Angeles's fiercest criminal defense attorney, Jax Stewart (Emayatzy Corinealdi), returns to the court sooner than she expected. We follow Jax just as she's decided to take a break to recover from the extremely taxing, and even deadly, proceedings from last season. But this new case isn't like the ones she's handled in the past.

This one hits close to home. One of her closest friends, Shannelle (Shannon Kane) confesses that she's killed her husband, claiming self-defense. But the prosecution thinks otherwise.



.. Aside from the pressure of defending her friend in court, she's also feeling the weight of trying to save her marriage.

She's brought on an ambitious attorney named Corey Cash (Morris Chestnut) to lead the case, but will he be helpful or stir up even more trouble? As announced in May, the new season premieres on Thursday, August 22, 2024.

And they're dropping not just one but episodes, which you can watch on Hulu. When do the next episodes drop? Sadly, you won't be able to bingewatch this one. After the first two episodes come out, the show will follow a weekly schedule.

New episodes — which, like last season, are named after some of Jay-Z's greatest hits — will be coming out every Thursday, and you can watch as soon as the clock strikes at midnight.
