Why choose dual Studio Displays? Text clarity, for one. Very nice office setup and the Apple studio display continues to appear bright and worth the money. But the more I look at it, the more I consider a 32” 4K or a 34” Ultrawide.
The 27” just doesn’t excite me much anymore. I’m looking at my 27” right now and ergonomically I think it’s perfect size, I don’t have to move my eyes back and forth, but I always have a thought that just a bit larger would be preferable. I guess I need to sit in front of the studio display one day.
Thank you! I actually played around with a few setups. I tried a 49′′ Samsung OLED, 42′′ LG C4 OLED, 32′′ Alienware OLED. The Samsung & LG were too big for my desk size and I found I was moving my head way too much.
The displays are impressive if you have the desk space. The Alienware is a beautiful display and a nice size, however the accurate colors and high PPI on the Studio Display kept bringing me back. Text clarity is important to me and the way the Studio Display works seamlessly with the MacBook Pro cemented my decision.

Same here, I tried to like the Samsung 49′′ OLED, but the text clarity of the Studio display spoiled me. I have thought about purchasing a third Studio display and running them horizontally. I think the immersion would be fantastic! And for another, Studio Display is the ‘best display I have ever used’ I bought one out of pocket for work.
It’s crazy how my eyes don’t hurt after staring at it all day. Invest in you! Totally agree! It’s hard to understand just how good the Studio display is until you use one. A lot of people complain about it being IPS and 60Hz, but it’s still the best display I have ever used.
Why stacked? Love this idea, often use my Mac below my Studio display, might have to steal this! I use to have one study display with my MacBook underneath and liked it that way. But the second Studio Display makes it so much better. Which is your ‘primary’ display? Nice! I always wanted to see a setup like this.

ended up going with the Pro Display XDR. Do you use the bottom display as your “primary” display? I wanted the Pro XDR but the cost was too much for me. I use the bottom display as my primary, but surprisingly I use the top display more than I thought I would.

The dual Apple displays beside each other is not the best viewing angle if I’m being honest after having two for a few months. May give this a try. Will Apple remove the stand for my displays if I take it to the store ? Thanks, I had two Studio displays with stands side by side but didn’t like the viewing angle or the split in the middle.
I ended up selling them and buying two VESA models. Stacking them made all the difference in the world and so far no regrets. Apple will remove the stand from your display and convert it to a VESA mount.
I believe they charge $120.00 at the Apple Store. Where is your eye level with the stacked displays (when sitting)? Where is your eye level in relation to the monitors? Like when you’re sitting is your eye line at the space between them so you’re always looking up or down? My eye level is about a 1/3 way down from the top of the top monitor.
The top of my desk is 27 inches. I use the built in camera on the bottom Studio display, however the video is shown on the top display. This way it looks like I am looking at the center of the camera.
That set up is the most comfortable and has the best view for whoever is on the other end of zoom call. How do the displays and webcam work for you if you stand? How about when standing ? I do Zooms and was wondering if the camera would be too far away on top. I have done Zoom calls when standing and the camera works great.
How do the Studio Display’s speakers work in this setup? I assume you’re using the in-monitor speakers – how does it sound? does apple software adapt sound positioning when using a dual setup? for example, two studio displays side by side would adapt sound to a left-right stereo. Yes I am using the Studio display speakers which sound great for a monitor. I normally use Bluetooth headphones which are hidden behind the displays.
