Britney Spears is reportedly the latest star to document her life via biopic. According to Variety, Universal Pictures landed the rights to the pop princess’ best-selling memoir The Woman in Me. The book chronicles Spears’ rise to fame, her relationship with fellow child star Justin Timberlake — which included her getting pregnant and having an abortion during their time together — as well as her life under a highly restrictive 13-year conservancy.

The Woman in Me quickly became a best seller. In the day following its arrival in October, Spears stated the book was “the highest selling celebrity memoir in history” within its first day on shelves. Wicked director Jon M.

Chu and Marc Platt are reportedly leading the film’s development. Spears also took to X earlier this month to reveal that she’s been working on a “secret project” with Platt. “Excited to share with my fans that I’ve been working on a secret project with #MarcPlatt.

He’s always made my favorite movies ...

stay tuned,” she wrote. In anticipation of the potential biopic, we’ve compiled a list of our dream cast to portray the key people in Spears’ life, from the pop princess herself, family and exes to industry peers, reporters and more. See below.

She’s so lucky! She’s a star! Besides their obvious physical resemblance, Sweeney knows the struggle of how someone is portrayed to the media can be completely different to who she actually is. She’d be the perfect candidate to portray Britney from the lens of empathy and kindness, which is all the pop star asks for. While Millie Bobby Brown has expressed that playing Britney in a biopic would be her dream role, she has the acting chops to take on Jamie Lynn and bring the depth to the sisters’ tumultuous relationship.

Similar to Brown, Bullock is an acting pro. The star can easily channel the nuances in Spears’ relationship with her mother — and probably win an Oscar for it. As much as this is an unfortunate casting for any actor, you can’t deny the resemblance between Baldwin and Spears’ estranged father.

‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’ star already has JT’s signature curls. Taking on the difficult experiences with Timberlake that Spears highlights in her book will take Casalegno from rising actor to full-blown movie star. Dove Cameron is no stranger to the Disney machine herself, and knows the struggle of getting compared to other pop stars.

Her musical ability combined with her acting talent makes her the perfect candidate to portray Xtina. Let Bradley Cooper grow his hair out, and he’s a spot-on resemblance to the mega-producer who helped Britney become the pop icon she is by working on “..

.Baby One More Time.” OK, we know that Aguilera is a character in the film.

However, instead of playing herself, it would be interesting to see Xtina take on a different relationship with Spears by portraying her mentor and collaborator, Madonna. She certainly has the musical chops for it! Michael Caine is great at taking on an uplifting role, and it would be heartwarming to see him play Elton John, who worked with Britney on her first post-conservatorship single, “Hold Me Closer.” Diane Sawyer’s infamous interview with Britney Spears led the pop star to burst into tears over media scrutiny.

Katherine Heigl never shies away from a difficult role, and will capture the journalist’s conversation with Spears flawlessly. “I’d appreciated it when Oprah told me on her show that my sexuality was no one else’s business,” Spears wrote in her book. “And when it came to virginity, ‘You don’t need a world announcement if you change your mind.

’” Queen Latifah is a fierce advocate for women in the entertainment industry, so she’d be a perfect fit for Oprah’s empowering interview with Spears. For Britney’s supportive pal Paris Hilton, Elle Fanning would be a great choice for the best friend role. Plus, she’d look incredible in Hilton’s Y2K style.

Fellow Iranian star Shervin Alenabi looks a lot like Spears’ ex-husband, and the beloved actor will have no issues capturing the relationship between Asghari and Spears. Spears had a brief fling with Farrell in the early 2000s, which would be a fun opportunity to reunite ‘Euphoria’ co-stars Sweeney and Elordi on the big screen. Let’s be real, no one can play Ginuwine better than Ginuwine himself.

Watching him re-enact the moment in Spears’ book where Justin Timberlake looked at the “Pony” singer and said, “‘Oh yeah, fo’ shiz, fo’ shiz. Ginuwine, what’s up, my homie?,'” warrants an Oscar on its own..
