But this year, they’re receiving an “exclusive box,” featuring a unique twist and sparking curiosity about what’s inside the boxes. Aside from these tokens, the world champions also enjoy financial rewards. Here’s a list of the top countries where Olympic medalists have a hefty payday.

This year, a few countries have upped the ante, giving out substantial Olympic prize money to their top athletes. Hong Kong is leading with the biggest payout – $768,000. Last July, the country’s Chief Secretary for Administration Chan Kwok-ki announced that cash incentives have increased 20 percent, compared to those given out in the Tokyo Olympics.
Singapore, in the second spot, offers their silver medalists SG$500,000, while the bronze medalists earn SG$250,000. Silver and bronze medalists will receive P5 million and P2 million respectively.

Malaysia’s medalists are receiving additional cash incentives and luxury-serviced apartments from private entities. Meanwhile, the Olympic prize money for Team USA champions seems modest compared to those received by their fellow Olympians from other countries.
