The Tigers were No. 15 heading into last Saturday's showdown with Alabama . They lost 42-13 despite being undefeated in home night games under coach Brian Kelly.



Alabama slid in at No. 10 in the rankings after dominating LSU. Last week, the committee's first rankings reveal of the season, Alabama earned the final at-large bid as the No.

11 team in the pecking order. Ole Miss (11), Tennessee (7) and Texas (3) were the other Southeastern Conference schools to join the Crimson Tide in the projected playoff field. Ole Miss leapfrogged LSU and others in the rankings after pulling off an upset over Georgia last Saturday.

The next closest SEC team to make the 12-team field was Georgia at No. 12 in the rankings and the first team out of the field. Texas A&M (15), South Carolina (21) and Missouri (23) also cracked the committee's top 25 from the SEC.

The No. 1 team in the committee's rankings was Oregon. Ohio State (2), Penn State (4) and Indiana (5) were the remaining teams from the Big Ten that made this week's playoff field.
