The pop-up thrift shop will have a vast array of pre-loved items on sale on September 28 and 29, 2024, from 11 am to 9 pm. Founder of Good Karma Treasure Shop and Offbeat Goa, Vijaya Josephine Pais, says, “Our store has an all-woman team, and we give 25 percent of the proceeds to different local NGOs every month, along with raising awareness about the work the NGO is doing.

Schulen Fernandes, who was creative head and head designer of the Wendell Rodricks label, is Vijaya’s business partner in the Good Karma Treasure Shop venture. Talking about the collaboration with Bombay Closet Cleanse, Vijaya says, “Bombay Closet Cleanse is a lovely women-run thrift store, as is ours, but based in Mumbai! They reached out to us in July with the idea of a pop-up collab at our store.
Thrifting for us is a solution to aid the post-consumer textile waste crisis.” Shoppers at the Bombay Closet Cleanse’s pop-up thrift store will be able to rummage through women and men’s clothing, luxury and vintage pieces, swimwear, corsets, accessories and curvy clothing for a steal, with some pre-loved gems priced as low as Rs 99. As with all thrift shops, the premise is escaping the vicious grip of mindless consumerism.
Recycling and reusing items is encouraged, thus saving.
