For over three months, Arrowhead Game Studios tried to give Helldivers 2 players the Anti-Tank Mines Stratagem by offering it as a reward across numerous Major Orders. The community didn’t want them though, opting to unlock other weapons including the Airburst Rocket Launcher and saving a children’s hospital. Eventually, the developers stacked the deck which forced them to be added to our list of Stratagems after the community was unable to eradicate 1.

5 billion enemies from the Galaxy . But, it is safe to say that they are incredibly disappointing and have yet to have a use case found for them that would make them viable to carry in missions. U/MewingIntrovert took to the Helldivers 2 sub-Reddit to share a new concept for an Anti-Tank Grenade.

This is designed to take out larger enemies such as Hulks and Chargers by penetrating heavier armor which other grenades cannot do. The Anti-Tank Grenade would be useful as most players haven’t taken to the recently added Anti-Tank Mines, which players were forced to receive after having spent 3 months avoiding the reward. This may have been the right move as the Anti-Tank Mines are incredibly underwhelming, with them rarely taking down a heavy, instead they only effectively take out smaller enemies, but there are already plenty of more reliable ways to do that including regular grenades, the Grenade Pistol, and the dozens of Stratagems that are available to use.

The concept received a mixed response, with many poking fun at the Anti-Tank Mines, but u/TheCheesyOne109 is enthusiastic about the item saying “We need something like this. Thermite grenade is not fulfilling the role of an antitank grenade very well.” U/JRuss3 also pointed out that “This should have been the Thermite grenade from the start! Instead of burning, make it a sticky tank bomb.

” The Anti-Tank Grenade is a real weapon that has been used for over one hundred years, dating back to the first World War, notably the RKG-3 that has been used since 1950. They have also made appearances in numerous video games, including the current Battlefield 2042. It isn’t just the Anti-Tank Mines that have been a recent disappointment in Helldivers 2.

The recently released Escalation of Freedom update has caused a lot of backlash from the community, which has led to Arrowhead Game Studios laying out a 60-day roadmap to rectify the issues. The backlash primarily stems from nerfs to both fire and numerous popular weapons including the Breaker Incendiary Shotgun, which has shaken up the meta in the game. Some are now looking at the Cookout Shotgun to replace the Breaker Incendiary and so far the results have been promising.
