Here's what visitors can expect. Kicking off with the second annual Hebridean Whisky Festival and finishing with the inaugural Hebridean Fine Food and Drink Festival in Stornoway, September is set to be a landmark month for food and drink businesses across the Hebrides.

Highlighting the Hebrides as a premier food and drink destination, the two events will celebrate the islands' rich cultural heritage, exceptional local produce, and vibrant communities, showcasing the innovative artisans and thriving businesses that make the Hebrides a must-visit for foodies. Kicking off the month’s festivities, which coincide with Scottish Food & Drink September, is the Hebridean Whisky Festival, running from 9-14 September. The week-long event will take place across the stunning landscapes of Skye, Raasay, Harris, Benbecula, Jura, and North Uist , each offering a unique experience that blends expert whisky tastings, behind-the-scenes tours, and local food pairings.

As part of the festival, North Uist Distillery will host an open day on September 11 at its newly refurbished visitor centre, where guests can enjoy live music, sample local seafood, and taste the distinctive Downpour Gin, crafted with foraged Hebridean botanicals. Following the whisky festivities, the spotlight shifts to Stornoway on September 28.
