PATRICK HORGAN shared a bittersweet moment with his son on the Croke Park pitch following Cork's All-Ireland final defeat to Clare on Sunday. The Glen Rovers man made history during the decider when he became the top scorer in the history of the All-Ireland senior hurling championship. Cork ace Horgan held his nerve to send Sunday's thrilling All-Ireland SHC final at Croke Park to extra time.

However, the Rebels could not go a step further in the subsequent 20 minutes, falling to Clare by just one point. He celebrated the bittersweet finale of the match by sharing a hug with his young son, Jack. Captured in an incredible photograph, two-year-old Jack clung to his Dad's hurl as gold confetti scattered around the pitch.

Hoggie kissed the tot on the head as the child looked around at the scenes in the aftermath of Cork heartbreak. Patrick, who is from Blackpool, married long-term love Ashley Lovett in 2019 in the Church of Saint Mary’s in Ballincollig in Cork. The couple tied the knot in a beautiful wedding ceremony in November 2019 and welcomed little Jack, in June 2022.

Horgan shared a photo of the new arrival upon his birth, with the pic depicting mother and baby in matching onesies. Just like his dad, Jack Horgan is a GAA fanatic, and has shared in Hoggie's historic season in 2024. When Cork beat defending champions Limerick in the All-Ireland semi-final, his son was at Croke Park for the game.

Not only that, but the two-year-old was brought onto the pitch to celebrate with his father in front of the jubilant Cork supporters. "Meet Jack Horgan, my new best friend," Patrick said at the time..
