FARGO — It might not feel like the flu and cold season, but local health experts want you to prepare for it. Specialists from Essentia Health, Sanford Health, Fargo Cass Public Health and Health and Human Services are asking everyone older than 6 months of age to get annual vaccinations against the flu and COVID-19. Those who are older than 75 should get vaccinated against Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV).

If you have underlying conditions, you'll want to get that vaccine starting at age 60. The State Health Officer says getting ahead of respiratory illnesses is critical for keeping people safe and hospital beds open. "It is important to protect vulnerable populations at risk for severe illness, it's also very important for protecting the healthcare system, hospital capacity, and other critical infrastructure," said Dr.

Nizar Wehbi, the North Dakota State Health Officer. Health and Human Services will also have a new vaccine locator and data dashboard for these illnesses on its website starting in October..
