Health Canada has issued a recall on the South Shore Furniture Ltd. Balka, Yodi and Dylan cribs due to an “entrapment hazard.” According to the Health Canada, the spacing between some of the crib models are 3 to 5.

5 millimetres too wide, creating a dangerous opening for a child and posing a risk of entrapment. The agency says that, as of July 12, there are believed to be 16 cribs that have this issue and have listed the model and order numbers of the impacted products on . They say these numbers for a given crib can be identified by reading the label on the inside bottom at one end of the crib.



The impacted models include the pure white, black, navy blue and sage green varieties of the Balka model cribs and the white varieties of both the Dylan and Yodi model cribs. Health Canada says South Shore Furniture Ltd. has not received any reports of incidents or injuries in Canada related to the product recall.

Anyone with one of the impacted cribs should immediately stop using it and contact South Shore for a refund, Health Canada says..
