HBO has opened a casting call for the key three roles of Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger in its upcoming “Harry Potter” TV series. Fans spotted the announcement circulating online Monday with HBO subsequently confirming it. Actors are required to be between the ages of 9-11 as of April 2025, and must be residents of the U.

K. and Ireland. Otherwise, the notice indicates they are “committed to inclusive, diverse casting” and so qualified performers are being sought “without regard to ethnicity, sex, disability, race, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other basis protected by law unless otherwise specifically indicated.



” Actors are required to submit two self-tapes. One to be a max of 30 seconds and is a short poem, monologue or story, but nothing from “Harry Potter” or the world of that franchise. The other to be a minute long with details about the actor.

The submission deadline is October 31st. Filming on the series is expected to take place in the UK “during 2025-2026”. The show is expected to run for seven seasons, with each adapting one of the book’s in J.

K. Rowling’s series. Francesca Gardiner will showrun and executive produce.
