ROGERSVILLE — The Hawkins County Health Department will be hosting its fourth annual Drive-thru Baby Shower from 2-4 p.m., Friday, Oct.
4 at the Rogersville City Park, 311 Park Blvd. “This is a unique and convenient way to put information and resources in the hands of expectant or new mothers and their families. There are many community partners doing great things and providing invaluable resources,” Shaun Street, Hawkins County health director, wrote in an email.
“This allows those community partners to engage with residents who otherwise may not know of their services. We have many people who cross county lines to participate and we are happy to serve them as well.” The health department is partnering with 15 to 20 community partners who promote their services, Street stated in the email.
The shower is geared toward expectant parents and families. Attendees will drive through the parking lot and meet health department employees and representatives of community organizations, the release said. They will be given tote bags with information, can register for giveaways and be educated on many different topics including family planning, dental care, breastfeeding and immunizations.
