Monday, January 27, 2025 Hawaiian Airlines is set to debut its flagship Boeing 787 Dreamliner on flights between Honolulu and New York this April, offering an upgraded travel experience. Hawaiian Airlines is gearing up to introduce its flagship Boeing 787 Dreamliner on flights connecting Honolulu’s Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL) and New York’s John F.

Kennedy International Airport (JFK). This exciting development is set to begin in April, as confirmed by recent Cirium schedule updates and a spokesperson for the airline. The 4,983-mile route, a key domestic connection for the airline, will transition to Dreamliner service from April 22 through August 20, replacing the Airbus A330-200 that has long served this route.

Travelers in premium cabins will likely be thrilled by the upgrade. The Boeing 787 features a modern 34-seat lie-flat business-class cabin in a 1-2-1 configuration, offering direct aisle access and enhanced privacy with sliding doors. This is a significant improvement over the A330’s older 2-2-2 layout, which accommodates just 18 seats with limited privacy.

The increase in premium cabin capacity could make it easier for travelers to secure upgrades or redeem miles for first-class seats. However, a preliminary check shows no significant change in availability following the aircraft switch. Economy-class passengers can also look forward to a more comfortable journey on the Dreamliner, thanks to its advanced features, including lower cabin pressuri.
