Friday, November 29, 2024 Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas welcomed nearly 5.3 million passengers in October 2024, marking its second-highest monthly traffic count ever. Although this represents a 3.

5% decline from the all-time record of 5.5 million set in October 2023, the figure still highlights the airport’s continued prominence as a critical hub for domestic and international travel. The Clark County Department of Aviation, which released the monthly statistics, pointed out that October has traditionally been the airport’s busiest month.

Last year’s record-breaking number surpassed the previous high of 5.2 million passengers in 2022, reinforcing the airport’s position as one of the country’s busiest air travel hubs. Event-driven Traffic Surge Propels High Passenger Numbers Tourism officials attribute October’s strong passenger numbers to a series of major events and the favorable weather conditions that draw visitors to Las Vegas.

The month kicked off with the Global Gaming Expo and wrapped up with the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show, an automotive trade event that typically attracts over 100,000 attendees. In addition to these industry events, Southern Nevada also hosted two home games for the Las Vegas Raiders against Pittsburgh and Kansas City, further boosting local tourism. Major performances by high-profile acts like The Eagles at the Sphere contributed to the overall influx of travelers.
