Hariyali Teej 2024 : Hariyali Teej holds a great religious significance in Hindu religion. This is one of the major festivals of Hindus celebrated in North India. Hariyali Teej is celebrated with great grandeur and enthusiasm by all married hindu women.

Hariyali Teej is celebrated on Tritiya Tithi (Third Day) of Shukla Paksha in the month. The festival of Hariyali Teej is going to be celebrated on August 7, 2024 . Hariyali Teej represents the monsoon season the environment is full of greenery and as we all know Hariyali Teej is celebrated on Tritiya Tithi of Shukla Paksha in the month of Sawan. This festival is also known as Sawan Ki Teej. This day is dedicated to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati and devotees worship the Lord and the Goddess.

It is believed that Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati bestow the devotees with happiness, prosperity and good fortune. Hindu married women observe on this sacred day and they observe strict fast for the longevity and well being of their husbands and abstain from food and water whole day from dawn to dusk and offer prayers to Lord Mahadev and Maa Parvati. Women seek blessings of Lord Shiva and Mata Parvati by offerings prayers to them.

Hariyali Teej is the festival when all the married Hindu women get dressed in tranditional clothes and adorn themselves with gold jewellery and they wear solah shringar (wearing green bangles, they put vermillion, apply mehendi, wear toe rings and anklets etc.) and these are the most auspicious symbols of marriage. Many newly wed women visit their parents house and celebrate this festival with their family members.

They get a lot of gifts and clothes from their parents. Not only married women but also unmarried women keep the fast with immense devotion and worship Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati by offering sweets, solar shringar items, performing Rudrabhishekam, performing gathbandhan. It is believed that by performing puja rituals on this auspicious day, unmarried women get blessings of the Lord and Goddess and also get the desired life partner.

Hariyali Teej 2024: Puja Rituals 1. Women get up early in the morning and take a holy bath before starting puja rituals. 2.

They clean the house especially puja room. 3. Wear nice beautiful dresses (saree, suits) preferably in green colour represent the monsoon and they also wear green bangles and other gold ornaments which is a symbol of marriage.

3. Green colour represents auspiciousness. 4.

They also prepare satvik food for bhog prasad. 5. Take a wooden plank and place an idol of Goddess Parvati and Lord Shiva or take a Shiv Parivar idol.

6. Light a diya with desi ghee in front of the idol, decorate the idol with flowers or garland, offer vermillion to the Goddess and other shringar items to Mata Parvati. 7.

Recite Hariyali Teej Katha and offer bhog prasad (kheer and Panchamrit) to Goddess Parvati and Lord Shiva. 8. Chant Aarti and seek blessings of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati Goddess for happy married life and pray for the well being of their husbands.

9. Unmarried women also seek blessings of the Lord and the Goddess and pray to get the desired husband like Mahadev. 10.

Married women also take blessings from their in laws by touching their feet and they give some gifts or clothes to their mother in law and father in law. 11. After performing puja at home, women visit temple and there also they perform puja and offer shringar to Maa Parvati.

12. All women come together and they sing bhajans associated with Hariyali Teej. 13.
