By Henry Uche The board, management, staff, parents and guidance who gathered at the end of the year party of Place of Liberty Special School for children with Down Syndrome and Cerebral Palsy, Ikate, Surulere, Lagos, have called on Nigerians to remember children with special needs even as the economy bits harder. The Head Teacher, Mr. Adams Jimmy, said: “The facility is being powered by the Anglican Diocese, Lagos Mainland and supported by CM Life and the Oluwole Family, to provide compassionate care and education to children with special needs that they may attain the highest possible levels of their human capacities.

Counsellors, support and caregivers, philanthropists and altruistic Nigerians also offered gift items and promised to support the children. Chairman of the board, Right Reverend Akinpelu Johnson, encouraged parents to support their children’s development at home. He shared updates from the previous day’s Board meeting, highlighting the board’s efforts to ensure the school’s continued progress.



He commended the staff for their dedication and care, and thanked parents for their tireless support in ensuring their children’s daily attendance. He prayed for God’s guidance and protection for everyone in the coming year: “Parents must not fail to do their work for their children at home. Guiding and directing these children in the right paths to go indispensable, we must not be found wanting.
