Adam Sandler and Netflix have confirmed that production has officially begun on the “Happy Gilmore” sequel. Both have shared a new photo on social media showcasing the character’s famed Boston Bruins jersey. Sandler adds in the caption that they have only “just begun”.

Sandler will reprise his role as the titular Happy Gilmore while NFL superstar Travis Kelce and filmmaker/actor Benny Safdie are both in the film in some capacity. Christopher McDonald, who played Shooter McGavin in the original, revealed in March that he had seen a draft of the script so it’s expected he will appear. S. cinemas in February 1996 and went on to gross $39 million from a $12 million budget, along with it still being one of Sandler’s signature roles. “Happy Gilmore 2” does not yet have a release date.
