ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- No.

1 seeded Hannibal came out firing on Wednesday to open up the Class 4 District 4 volleyball tournament. The Lady Pirates completed a 3-0 sweep over McCluer North in the district quarterfinal game at Parkway North High School to move on to the next round. In the first set, Hannibal won in a dominant 25-5 fashion.



The Lady Pirates kept that momentum and won the second set 25-4 and the third set 25-7. Hannibal junior Malia Stolte led the way with seven kills, eight assists, two aces and a dig. Lady Pirates senior Emilia Bates came through with seven kills, one assist, one block, four aces and a dig.

Hannibal sophomore Aly Falconer chipped in four kills, 17 assists, six aces and two digs. Lady Pirates senior Abbie Martin racked up two kills and 12 aces. Hannibal freshman Lyla Dorsey contributed four kills and four digs.

Lady Pirates libero Kegan Greening had one ace and one dig, while freshman Marissa Falconer also had one dig and one assist. Rounding out Hannibal's stats was Mia Ebers with a kill, Zanie Terrill with two digs, Audrey Dein with a dig and Brooke Hess with a kill. Earlier on Wednesday, conference champion Hannibal had six players named to the All-North Central Missouri Conference team.

Stolte, Martin and Bates were first teamers, while Aly Falconer and Greening were second teamers and Dorsey was an honorable mention selection. Up next for Hannibal (25-7) is the Class 4 District 4 semifinals against Fort Zumwalt South (12-8) at 4:30 p.m.
