Ahead of this year's RazerCon 2024, we had an exclusive opportunity to go hands-on with two of Razer’s upcoming releases: the Kraken V4 Pro headset and a unique gaming seat cushion dubbed Project Freyja. The standout feature of both products is the integration of Razer’s Sensa HD Haptics technology, which adds a new dimension of immersion, particularly for Project Freyja. With these new offerings, Razer seems to be pushing boundaries in both audio and tactile feedback for gaming.
The Kraken V4 Pro is the latest in Razer’s Kraken lineup, building on the design and capabilities of its predecessors. This version introduces a docking station with a small OLED display, which brings added convenience and customization. Users can control various audio settings such as volume, equalizer presets, and input switching.
The station also allows adjustment of the intensity of the Razer Sensa HD Haptics, enabling users to fine-tune their experience. In terms of hardware, the Kraken V4 Pro includes 9-zone RGB lighting, a retractable microphone, and 40mm TriForce drivers that aim to deliver enhanced sound quality across highs, mids, and lows. Comfort is also a priority with plush ear cushions, ensuring the headset can be worn for long periods.
Connectivity options are flexible, supporting 2.4GHz wireless, Bluetooth, USB-C, and even a 3.5mm audio jack for traditional wired use.
The Kraken V4 Pro will retail at $399. Project Freyja is Razer’s foray into a new form of immersive gameplay .
