Hainan Airlines has announced plans to increase the frequency of its services between Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK) and Manchester Airport (MAN) this winter. According to AeroRoutes , flights will now operate on a daily basis from October 27th, 2024, to January 25th, 2025. Daily flights operated by the Airbus A330 The service has already been operating on a daily basis during this year's peak summer travel season but was due to return to 4x weekly for the winter.

The latest data from ch-aviation shows that the carrier's fleet currently boasts 20 of the aircraft, with an average age of 8.7 years old.

Each of Hainan Airlines' A330-300s can carry up to 303 passengers in a two-class configuration. Hainan Airlines began flying to Manchester in the summer of 2016 and was, for many years, the airport's only direct link to mainland China until Juneyao Airlines began flying to Shanghai (PVG) earlier this year. With the increased frequency of its flights to and from Manchester, Hainan Airlines is undoubtedly hoping to tap into the large market of Chinese diaspora and student communities in the region.

Chinese airlines have already reached the direct flight limit between China and the US. However, US airlines still have room to add more flights. A growing presence in Europe Hainan Airlines also plans to continue the increased frequency of its flights between Shanghai (PVG) and Brussels (BRU).

The flights currently operate four times per week for the summer season but were due to drop to three times per week for the winter. However, the carrier has announced that the frequency will now remain at four weekly for the winter season, too. Flights will be operated by the Boeing 787-9.

Its current fleet totals 220 aircraft, including 135 Boeing 737-800s, 10 787-8s, and 28 787-9s. The carrier has a number of aircraft still on order, including 20 COMAC C919s.
