Walking into the Guam Women’s Chamber of Commerce’s Fanachu Famalåo’an: ElevateHER event, the uplifting energy of the room could be felt as women flooded the Dusit Thani Guam Resort with excitement, ready to celebrate diversity. For those whom The Guam Daily Post spoke with, the event provided opportunities to connect and grow. But, it wasn't necessary to be a businesswoman or female entrepreneur to attend the Fanachu Famalåo’an, or be in awe of the energy in the room.
“Amazing. It’s nice seeing women owning business and succeeding in it,” Leah Mara told the Post. While she hadn’t thought about stepping into the world of entrepreneurship, she said the event inspired her.
“It does make me think I could be one of them. It’s always a good thing to go into the community to open a business, a business that maybe in the future is not niche to the community yet,” Mara said. A member of the Guam Chamber of Commerce for eight years, Mara said one of the biggest benefits the event brings is networking opportunities.
“I get to network, I get to meet beautiful, successful women who I get to network with, that’s always what I like doing here,” Mara said. Paulisha Shocker, a returning attendee, also made it a point to stop by the event. “This is actually my third year coming here.
It’s infectious being in a room filled with powerful women and it’s inspiring and it’s really great networking. Everyone that you speak with here genuinely cares and is wil.
