This accolade highlights the country’s extraordinary natural beauty and its ongoing commitment to eco-tourism. The Guyana Tourism Authority (GTA) made this announcement in a recent press release, celebrating this significant achievement for the destination.
Alongside this remarkable honor, Guyana’s Minister of Tourism, Industry, and Commerce , Oneidge Walrond, has also been recognized with the prestigious title of Tourism Minister of the Year – Ecological Tourism by PATWA. This award is a testament to her leadership in championing sustainable tourism practices and her continuous efforts to preserve the rich ecological heritage of the nation. The 2025 recognition marks a continued rise in Guyana’s global tourism appeal.
This is the second consecutive year that the country has received accolades from the Pacific Area Travel Writers Association (PATWA), a globally respected non-profit media organization founded in 1999.
