A list of McFarlane Toys action figures tied to James Gunn’s “Superman” film leaked online earlier this week and confirmed something that set photos suggested. That confirmation? That David Corenswet’s Man of Steel will face-off against Ultraman in the movie. Set photos from public filming in Atlanta saw Supes doing battle with a masked individual with a big “U” on his chest which led to the speculation.
Gunn responded at the time, not denying or confirming the rumor but saying: “The primary protagonist of Superman is, shockingly, Superman. The main villain of Superman is, shockingly, Lex Luthor. I don’t know where all the stuff is coming from that it’s something other than this.
” Gunn has now responded to a question about the leaked toy list on saying: “I’m not sure what you’re talking about but I have to okay all the toys and I don’t think any of them spoil anything.” Gunn also offered a on the film’s first trailer, confirming that it’s not finished yet and he “worked on it this weekend”. The film also stars Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Isabel Merced as Hawkgirl, Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern Guy Gardner, Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, Pruitt Taylor Vince and Neva Howell as the Kents, and Milly Alcock as Supergirl.
