Slug: To marks PM's B'day Prayagraj: To mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 74th birthday, 740 heart patients from Uttar Pradesh will be treated free of cost by Sri Sathya Sai Heart Hospital Rajkot and Ahmedabad over the next two years. On the 71st birthday of the PM in 2021, the govt of Gujarat had pledged to provide 71 free heart surgeries in a year to patients of the western state through the hospital. This pledge has been successfully fulfilled.

"Now, the hospital and the govt of Uttar Pradesh will provide free treatment to 740 heart patients at an estimated cost of Rs 10 crore in Ahmedabad and Rajkot over the next two years to mark PM's 74th birthday," said state president of Sri Satya Sai Seva Organisation, UP, Sachin Neb. For this purpose, a free diagnosis camp has been organised on Sept 28 and 29 at Chancellor Club, K-1 Aashiyana, Lucknow. In this camp, patients suffering from heart disease will be diagnosed free of cost and referred for surgery to the hospital.



"Sri Sathya Sai Heart Hospital had been described by former President APJ Abdul Kalam as ‘Heart without Bill'. This hospital has modern treatment system and is the only hospital in India that provides free treatment of heart disease to the needy, he added. Till now, about 23,000 heart operations have been done free of cost.

The hospital has an MOU with various states in which patients from Odisha, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Assam, Leh-Ladakh, and Jharkhand are treated free of cost. Poor heart patients from all over India have been treated here in the last 24 years. Till now, more than 1,000,000 patients have been examined in the OPD.
