The Cleveland Guardians re-signed free agent catcher Austin Hedges to a one-year contract on Wednesday. ESPN reported the deal was worth $4 million for Hedges, 32, who provides depth behind starter Bo Naylor. Hedges batted .
152 with two home runs and 15 RBIs in 66 games in 2024, including 46 starts behind the plate. He is a career .186 hitter with 69 homers and 238 RBIs in 752 games for the San Diego Padres (2015-20), Cleveland (2020-22, 2024), Pittsburgh Pirates (2023) and Texas Rangers (2023).
