Vadodara: Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya ( GSV ) of the city, in collaboration with Airbus , concluded its first executive training programme for the aviation sector. The three-day programme which began on Aug 5 at the Asian Institute of Transport Development in Dwarka, New Delhi, focused on safety management systems for working professionals. The programme got an enthusiastic response with participants from leading airlines such as IndiGo and Vistara and representatives of Airbus and the Union civil aviation ministry, a statement from the railway ministry said.

The course was attended by international professionals, including four each from Nepal and Bhutan. The instructors were leading experts from the industry, the release said. The course was inaugurated by Group Captain G V G Yugandhar, director general of the aircraft accident investigation bureau of the ministry of civil aviation and Sunil Bhaskaran, director of Air India Aviation Academy, in the presence of GSV vice-chancellor Professor Manoj Choudhary and dean (executive education) Professor Pradeep Garg.



GSV is a central university under the railway ministry with a mandate to cover the entire transportation and logistics sector. It recently announced a partnership with Airbus to promote aerospace education, training and research in India. “GSV is already offering regular education (bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral) and executive education programmes for various transportation and logistics sectors such as railways, ports and shipping and metro rail technology,” the release said, adding that the university started a BTech in aviation engineering this year.
