Now Avelo has 16 737s. Since taking wing in that inhospitable time in April 2021, Avelo Airlines has flown over five million customers on over 40,000 flights. In July, Avelo added 18 new nonstop routes, including the airline’s first scheduled international service to Montego Bay, Jamaica and Cancun, Mexico.
Avelo now serves 54 destinations in 24 states, Puerto Rico and the two Caribbean get-aways. The airline has six bases, including Los Angeles’ Hollywood Burbank Airport (BUR), Southern Connecticut’s Tweed-New Haven Airport (HVN), the Philadelphia and Delaware Valley region’s Wilmington Airport (ILG), Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU, Orlando International Airport (MCO) and the Bay Area’s Sonoma County Airport (STS). So far, Avelo’s secret of success has been its focus on service to friendlier mid-size cities and airports in leisure destinations.
