OWERRI – A non-governmental, non-polit­ical and non-profit-making or­ganisation (NGO)—”Association of Orphanages and Homes Op­erators in Nigeria” (ASOHON) has expressed resolution to col­laborate and synergise with the Imo State government on the on­slaught against child trafficking and baby factory business being perpetrated by some unpatriot­ic and misguided criminal ele­ments in the country. According to the National President, Dr. Gabriel .

O. Oyedi­ji, the association had already established her presence in the six geopolitical zones of the country and fashioned ethnic code of conduct for guidance of practices to add steam to the elimination of the obnoxious illegal vocation. Oyeoiji, who is also the Founder/CEO, “Compassionate Orphanage as well as Coordina­tor, Alimosho Local Government Area, Child Protection Network (CPN) disclosed this when the ex­ecutives of the ASOHON visited the Imo State commissioner for “Women Affairs and Vulnerable Group, Lady Nkechinyere Ugwu in her office.



The delegate was in Owerri to inform the commissioner of a 2 – day South East ASOHON Sum­mit 2024 taking place in Owerri and which had the theme Tran­sitional Support for institutional Children and Partnership. He said that the Summit was the 7th Edition in the Southeast packaged for a much more rig­orous public awareness on the dangers inherent in Child traf­ficking and other related offenc­es against child rights and to explore avenues for joint collab­oration .
