"Green Bones" has just released its official movie teaser and wow, consider us seated. Ruru Madrid, Dennis Trillo, Michael De Mesa, and Ronnie Lazaro don't provide a star power in the short 1:30 teaser. More importantly, they showcase their compelling acting skills that make the MMFF 2024 entry a serious contender for the festival's awards night.
In the teaser, we are also introduced to the majestic Tree of Hope, where persons deprived of liberty (PDL) write and hang their small hopes and wishes, as well as the concept of, well, green bones. According to the movie, when a good person dies and gets cremated, their ashes will have specks of green. Ruru is a newly assigned prison guard, Michael is his superior, Dennis and Ronnie are PDLs, with Dennis looking like he's up to something.
At the end of the teaser, he is shown running away in the middle of the night. On Facebook, the teaser has already been watched more than 32K times, with over 1K reactions. "Green Bones" is an original story by JC Rubio, senior documentary manager of GMA Public Affairs.
The screenplay was written by National Artist Ricky Lee and MMFF 2023 Best Screenplay winner Anj Atienza. Kylie Padilla and Sofia Pablo are also part of the project, which according to Ruru , is a total dream come true. Produced by GMA Pictures and Public Affairs, "Green Bones" will be distributed by Columbia Pictures.
