A shocking video shows the reality of what a day in Santorini, Greece , is really like - from locals "hiding in homes", poo on the ground, and "awful" site. Santorini is a bucket list destination for many. It's beautiful views, clear sea water and bright white buildings are simply breathtaking.

Every year it attracts more than three million people, and around 17,000 people a day are brought to the Greek island on cruise ships, as they are all eager to see the beloved holiday spot. However, if you are planning on booking a trip to the island in the near future, you might find some not-so beautiful sites you didn't expect to see. A man known as Nick Holiday online shared an eye-opening video on TikTok recently.

The content creator, who has raked in over 50 million likes on his videos said that people holidying in Santorini are "having an awful time" because of overcrowding. "They can't enjoy any of the things they wanted to see while they were there," he added. It comes as panic has errupted due to the massive number of tourists is putting huge strains on infrastructure and communal services, as well as leaving no physical space for the 20,000 people who live on the island.

Narrow roads that were never built to accommodate so much traffic are often jammed with cars. During peak holiday seasons, waste management services are unable to cope, with garbage lying around everywhere. Not only is it unsettling for residents, but it is ruining experiences for tourists.
