Age: 33 Hometown: London, originally Emmen in The Netherlands Occupation: Menswear designer Baking strengths and weaknesses: "As a baker, one of my strengths is to not be afraid to try out new things, taking risks which may pay off or they may not. I also think my background in fashion can play to my strengths, when thinking about design/details/colours/etc. One of my weaknesses is my insecurity.

I'm easily thrown when I see what other people do, automatically thinking what they do is better, or, when someone criticises my bake taking it very personally. I've learnt to take criticism well, however there is always a little part of me that takes it quite personally." What would be your favourite type of Showstopper to bake?: "I would absolutely love to create a fantasy world people would be able to walk through, like in Willy Wonka, completely edible! Using all the things you can think of – biscuits, chocolate, meringue, etc.

" How did it feel entering the famous tent for the first time?: "Seeing the tent for the first time is exciting, daunting, exhilirating, scary and more all at the same time. I was told before some people cry seeing the tent for the first time, and I thought that was a bit much..

. But there I was! Walking to your workstation is also just crazy – it really is like settling into your first home for the first time!" The Great British Bake Off airs Tuesdays at 8pm on Channel 4. Follow us on X/Twitter and like us on Facebook for the latest entertainment news .
