In brief: The most anticipated game of 2025 – and arguably, the decade – is still on track for a fall 2025 launch, quelling rumors that Grand Theft Auto VI might not arrive until 2026 or beyond. Unfortunately, there is still no word regarding a version of the game for PC. Confirmation came as part of Take-Two's recent earnings report .

In a section detailing the company's future lineup, GTA VI is still listed as coming to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series this fall. If you recall, it took roughly a year and half for GTA V to find its way to Windows. It has been nearly a year since Rockstar shared the first and only trailer for the next entry in the franchise (and somehow more than 11 years have passed since the arrival of GTA V).



It's practically unheard of for a series in its prime to go so long between sequels, but GTA is a true outlier. Expectations are immeasurable, and the success of GTA V and its online mode have provided Rockstar the luxury to take their time on the sequel. To date, GTA V has sold-in more than 205 million units worldwide and brought in more than $8.

5 billion in revenue. The game cost $265 million to develop and market, which was a record high at the time. The GTA VI trailer dropped in early December 2023, and started smashing records right away.

Within 24 hours, the trailer had garnered more than 90 million views on YouTube – enough to earn a Guinness World Record for the most views in a 24-hour period. To date, it has amassed 217 million views. .
