13 to include the number of residents affected and comments from the city’s public works director. GRAND HAVEN, MI - The city of Grand Haven issued a boil water notice on Thursday, Dec. 12 for a portion of the community due to a water main break.
Those affected are 630 residents on Robbins Road between Beechtree Street and Moreland Street, as well as all residents within the Robbins Nest Apartment complex, Village Green Mobile Home Community and Klempel Farms Condominiums. Resident are urged to use bottled water or to boil water. City officials say the boil water notice will be lifted as soon as bacteriological sample results indicate the water is safe to drink.
Results were anticipated within 48 to 72 hours. Public works crews responded at 10 p.m.
Wednesday, Dec. 11 to the water main break at the intersection of Robbins Road and Gillin Street on the city’s east side. Crews completed repairs and water was restored by 7:30 a.
m. Thursday. Public Works Director Derek Gajdos said the city was “still investigating the reason” for the water main break.
“Most of them break in this fashion due to age and fatigue, but we’re just trying to certify that,” Gajdos said on Friday.
