Oktoberfest will run from noon until 3 p.m. on Glen Street in Glens Falls, Saturday Sept.
28. The event will feature fare from local breweries, eateries and more. Octoberfest committee members, Carly Mankouski, Nevin Voorhis, Megan Zeim and Cam Cardinale are finalizing their list of vendors, and waiting on a few last-minute sign-ups, the group is expecting 15 to 20 vendors.
“We are hoping Oktoberfest grows from year-to-year,” said Carly Mankouski, one of the event’s organizers and the owner of Radici Kitchen & Bar. “We think it’s a really great way to highlight the local craft breweries, and we have so many of them in our community. Some of the stars of Oktoberfest will be local breweries; Mean Max, Davidson Brothers, Common Roots, there’s also going to be a lot of great local eateries," Mankouski said.
Oktoberfest this weekend is a great way to celebrate the beginning of fall, Mankouski said. The event is produced by the Glens Falls Collaborative with support from the City of Glens Falls, the Glens Falls Business Improvement District and Advokate, LLC. Mankouski said she is hoping to get 1,000 people to come to Oktoberfest this weekend.
“The weather is beautiful. It’s fall, it’s got food and beer and family fun, I just think this is going to be a great draw for a lot of people,” Mankouski said. “It’s going to be a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon.
” Oktoberfest will also feature live music by The Spotters and activities for the family. “It s.
