The Golden State Warriors weren’t considered heavy favorites to make a deep playoff run this season. ESPN ranked them off the running for the play-in tournament due to the aging core of players and a lackluster offseason that had Buddy Hield as the biggest acquisition. However, fans who watched the Dubs start the season in dominant fashion against the Portland Trail Blazers .

Stephen Curry and company completely dominated a Blazers squad that is still regaining their footing after Damian Lillard departed two seasons before. Fans may not take the results of the season opener seriously as the Blazers aren’t considered strong in the greater picture of the 2024-25 season. While their second match against the Utah Jazz doesn’t have any significant meaning for their aspirations in April, their equally solid showcase in Salt Lake City suggests that the Warriors may be worth watching this season.
