Fans were left seething when they saw Gerry pop up in a trailer for Joan’s season, which also showed Joan breaking down in tears over “guilt.” And while Joan has shared her regrets around her late husband John’s death, she also has something to say when it comes to Gerry.

The trailer showed Gerry asking Joan if she had considered the possibility that the man she was looking for wasn’t actually there–and she has now told Us Weekly more about the conversation they shared. “Gerry came and we had some really good, insightful conversations,” she said.
“So I was very happy that he came.” Fans, however, were livid because they don’t find Gerry to be an insightful person, despite his serving as the first Golden Bachelor.
