The Siddiqui family, stars of Gogglebox, made a rare reference to a family member who has never appeared on the show. The latest episode of the Channel 4 programme aired on Friday night (September 20), featuring the usual cast members sharing their thoughts on the week's top TV shows. However, it was an unusual moment from the Siddiquis that caught some viewers by surprise.

The family, which includes father Sid and his sons Raza, Umar and Baasit, have been part of the show for an impressive eleven years. Yet, the mother of the family has never been featured on the show and is seldom mentioned. In the most recent episode, the sons discussed who they believe is the favourite child in their mother's eyes.

During a conversation about gifting their mum, one son revealed her love for Tupperware. This led to one of the sons confessing that they recently bought Tupperware for their mum, which delighted her. The laughter following this admission indicated their close bond with their mother, reports the Mirror .

One viewer quickly noted: "That's the first time I've ever heard them mention their Mum." The Siddiquis have been part of Gogglebox since its inception in 2013, making them some of the only original cast members still on the show. In an interview with Radio Times last year, Sid, 78, admitted: "When it started, we didn't think it would last even a year.

It's crept up on us as well." "We've been doing this for 10 years. You know, you have to tell yourself to wake up and say it is weird!" The youngest sibling, Bassit, was the one who introduced his family to the show after a friend working on the programme suggested him.

He shared: "We did a bit of an audition, where people came round with a camera and some flash cards images of Boris Johnson, Simon Cowell...

and they said, 'Right, just say the first thing that comes into your mind.' "Whatever dynamic we had seemed to suit the show, because they asked us if we wanted to be part of it. And they've kept on asking us.

" However, it appears that their mother, Nasreen, prefers to keep a low profile. Gogglebox airs Fridays at 9pm on Channel 4..
