On Thursday's instalment of the popular ITV breakfast programme, Charlotte and her colleague Adil Ray were at the helm, delivering the week's headline stories. The conversation took an unexpected turn when the topic of drinking breast milk came up, following fitness expert Joe Wicks' admission that he tasted his wife's breast milk on the way to a Taylor Swift gig, dubbing it "liquid gold".

The presenters were joined by journalist and mother Ella Whelan, who expressed her strong opposition to the idea of adults consuming breast milk, labelling it "weird". In contrast, Danielle Facey, the founder of Breastfeeding Mentor, defended the practice. Ella stated: "I just don't get the obsession with breast milk.

You just had a debate about sweat and that is natural and normal but I'm not bringing in my partner's breast milk and making a cocktail," reports the Express . She went on to say: "I would rather see Joe film himself changing dirty nappies or washing up," but before she could finish, Danielle interjected, asserting: "You can do both, you can do both and you don't have to choose." As the two guests began to talk over each other, Ella interjected: "If you just let me finish.

" Danielle retorted: "Comparing breast milk to sweat, come on. If sweat contained cells which are being used to treat cancerous cells then it'll be a fair comparison but it's not." She continued: "That's why it's called liquid gold.

" Ella tried to get a word in, asking: "Can I get a word in? " The debate became more heated, forcing Charlotte to intervene. Addressing the two guests, she said: "Right, right we are out of time I am afraid but thank you so much both for the debate." Fans quickly took to social media to share their reactions.

One viewer vented: "There nothing else to talk about apart from a whole programme dedicated to breast milk? ! #GMB." Another remarked: "Vile vile vile vile vileeeeeee drinking breast milk #GMB." One queried: "Did this woman just compare sweat to breast milk? Seriously? #gmb.

" Meanwhile another pointed out: "We drink cow's breast milk, just saying most of us were breastfed as babies anyway#gmb." Before the segment started, guest Ashley Roberts confessed that she'd sampled her friend's breast milk. GMB is on weekdays on ITV at 6am.
