The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration issued multiple recalls last week, including notices fo r General Motors' recall of more than 460,000 cars for a transmission issue that could lead to the rear wheels locking up . Chrysler recalls: Over 200k Jeep, Dodge vehicles for antilock-brake system: See affected models Rivian SUVs, trucks recalled for deactivated exterior lighting Rivian is recalling 5,128 of its 2025 R1T trucks and R1S SUVs because a software update (version 2024.39.30) may prevent certain exterior lights from turning on when the Car Costume feature is activated, the NHTSA report said.

The report said that deactivated exterior lighting reduces the vehicle's visibility to other drivers which increases the risk of a crash. Rivian has released an over-the-air (OTA) software update for free. Recall notification letters are expected to be sent by Dec.
