I’m so grateful I got to share so many moments with my Ouma (my South African grandma) when I was growing up...

and when I think about it, so many of those moments involved a slice of pecan pie! So this recipe is my tribute to her, as it never fails to take me back to all those times that still make me smile many years later. Oh, and make sure you allow this to cool for a few hours before slicing – it makes all the difference! Freezable: once cooled, slice or leave whole and freeze in an airtight container for up to 3 months. You will need to make the gluten free pastry first which will take 15 minutes and then it needs 30 minutes chilling.
