MICHELIN, famed for its restaurant guide, has now launched its first rankings for hotels in the UK and Ireland.

Each hotel featured is ranked by keys. The Auchterarder hotel scooped top marks with three keys The honour comes as the hotel, which opened in 1924, celebrates its 100th anniversary. Gleneagles shares the three key distinction with the likes of Ardare Manor in Ireland and The Connaught and The Savoy in London.



It is the only establishment in Scotland to receive three keys. Its Edinburgh outpost Gleneagles Townhouse in St Andrew Square received one key. Gleneagles managing director Conor O’Leary said: “We were thrilled to be recognised as a leader in hospitality on this global platform.
