Birth: April 25, 1923 Death: August 13, 2024 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gladys (Corriveau) Roy, of Farmington Station Assisted Living, formerly of Plainville. A beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, she peacefully departed this life with her family by her side on August 13, 2024, at age 101. Gladys was the daughter of Mack Corriveau and Laura Theriault, born on April 25, 1923, a time when the world was vastly different, yet she embraced every change with grace and resilience.

A lifelong resident of Plainville, she was known for her warm heart, sharp wit, and unwavering dedication to her family and her community. Gladys lived a life rich with love and purpose. She married the love of her life, Lawrence Roy with whom she shared 59 beautiful years of marriage until his passing in 1999.



Together, they raised three children, instilling in them the values of kindness, hard work and integrity. Her home was always filled with laughter and the stories she cherished sharing from her many decades of life. Throughout her 101 years, Gladys witnessed incredible transformations in the world, yet she remained a steadfast pillar in her community.

She was an active member of Our Lady of Mercy Church and the Plainville Senior Center, where she spend countless hours volunteering. She also enjoyed playing BINGO, going to the casino and playing cards with her family and friends. Her wisdom, generosity, and spirit touched the lives of everyone she met.

Gladys is survived by her two daughters, Lorina Marcantonio and her husband Robert Brousseau of North Eastham, MA and Vero Beach, FL. And Tilda Uccello of Southington; her daughter-in-law, Geri Roy of Burlington; her four grandchildren Debbie Zakrzewski and her fiancé Michael Gagnon of Bristol, Fred Marcantonio and his wife Lisa of Farmington, Dawn Angelillo of Plantsville and Daniel Uccello and his fiancé Cindy Carrier of Canton; fourteen great grandchildren and eighteen great-great-grandchildren; all who will forever carry the memory of her love and guidance in their hearts. She was predeceased by her husband Lawrence, her son Roger Roy, her grandson Daniel Roy, her granddaughter Cheryl Marcantonio, her great-great grandson Christopher Roy, four brothers Gilbert, Clifford, Roger and Leo Corriveau and her two sisters, Aldine Lamoureux and Hazel Labbe.

Her family extends their heartfelt appreciation to her caregivers Nancy Kane, Iveliz (Ivy) Garcia and Shanell Drougas who supported her in her final years with their faithful, loyal and loving care, along with Amy and Chelsea of Brighton Hospice, Farmington and the staff at Farmington Station Assisted Living for their dedicated and attentive service. May she rest in peace, leaving a legacy of kindness that will continue to inspire and uplift all who knew her.
