A girl was hit by a car on a busy A-road. South East Coast Ambulance Service was called to reports of a pedestrian being hit by a car on the A259 Roundstone Bypass in Angmering at around 8.20am today.

Eyewitnesses, who also reported that the pedestrian was female, said the road was temporarily closed following the incident.
