A 17-year-old girl from Ohio was electrocuted outside her home after stepping outside with her bare feet. The tragedy occurred just five years after Olivia Bright's brother died of cancer aged just 11. Authorities said Bright was electrocuted as she stepped out in the yard near her East Toledo home on Sunday at around 9pm.

Olivia was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead with burns on her right hand while in cardiac arrest. "All I know is that Toledo Edison cleared my power; they cleared my electrical," Kimberly Bright, Oliva's mom, told 13 ABC.

"All I want to know is how my daughter passed - that's the answer I want," Bright said. "Five-and-a-half years ago, I buried my son Brandon. He was the age 11. He died of glioblastoma.

"Now I have to go and make arrangements for my daughter Olivia." A GoFundMe campaign seeks to aid the bereaved family with funeral costs, highlighting their previous loss of an 11-year-old son to brain cancer in 2019 as an additional toll on their hearts and funds. The fundraiser has already raised $1,800 towards the funeral costs.

Kimberly said she finds solace in her remaining children and grandchildren during this devastating period. She ask parents to cherish their kids, warning that life can change instantly. Her poignant reminder echoes the fragility of youth, as her 17-year-old daughter's life was cut tragically short.
