Four members of a family of five were killed in a tragic crash on a rural road as loved ones pay heartwrenching tributes. Mum Shannen Morgan and dad Shane Roller were killed in the collision between a car and a motorbike on the A61 between Barnsley, South Yorkshire, and Wakefield, West Yorkshire, on Sunday afternoon. The crash also killed two girls, understood to be their daughters Lillie and Rubie.

The tragedy occurred when the Ford Focus the family were travelling in collided with a motorbike on the road near Newmillerdam, West Yorkshire, at around 3.45pm on Sunday. The motorcyclist and pillion passenger, a man and woman, were also confirmed dead at the scene.

Relatives of the couple have now paid tribute to the family, who were named locally on Sunday evening. Callum Roller, Shane's brother, said he was "lost for words" in a devastated post, adding his heart was "ripped into a million pieces". "Today we lost two of our nieces my sister in law and my amazing brother in a car accident," he wrote.

"I’m absolutely heartbroken I’m gonna miss all of you! It’s absolutely broken my heart and it’s absolutely broke both side of families! You all had a heart of gold and gonna miss you all like crazy! My heart goes out to Shannen's side of family and mine! We are all in absolute shock!" One family friend wrote she was "heartbroken", describing their girls as "beautiful little souls". "Life is so cruel," she said. Friend Beth Rose Brittain described Shannen as "my extra sister", saying "my brain won't accept what's happened".

She said: "I just can’t speak. No words. Sleep tight my little Roller family your memory will live on for eternity.

" One woman, Chelsea, a close friend of Shannen's, said "Heaven has gained a beautiful family". In a public tribute, she wrote: "There are no words to describe the utter loss this has created for family/ friends and the community around us. I hope your at peace Shannen Morgan and Shane Roller, with your beautiful girls".

A force spokesperson said: An adult male and female, and two children, both female, who were travelling in the car, were also confirmed dead at the scene. The road has been closed between Shaw Lane and Warren Lane and is likely to remain closed for some time as the investigation continues.
