A popular Thai restaurant has announced the opening date for its new Solihull location, after more than a year of waiting. 'Vibrant' high-street restaurant chain Giggling Squid will be replacing Loch Fyne seafood bar and grill in Knowle, which occupied a prime spot in the village centre. When the seafood venue suddenly closed in April 2023, the unit was left empty for months before Giggling Squid confirmed it would be opening in the empty Knowle unit.

However, more than a year since signs and workers first appeared , there is finally a confirmed opening date. Restaurant bosses said they were "thrilled" to be opening on November 12. Giggling Squid said its new location would have a "wide takeaway menu" which would only be on offer a few weeks after opening.

The chain is known for favourites like sweet Sticky Chicken and Thai Green Curry, as well as guest favourite Salt & Pepper Squid. It will be its third West Midlands location, with Giggling Squid restaurants already in Harborne and Sutton Coldfield .
