The girl group's last release was in November 2020 K-pop girl group GFRIEND are set to reunite for their tenth anniversary, agency Source Music has confirmed. READ MORE: Five things we learned from Jungkook’s new documentary ‘I Am Still’ Today (September 24), K-pop agency Source Music confirmed in a statement that GFRIEND will reunite next year in celebration of the girl group’s tenth anniversary. It comes nearly four years after the sextet disbanded in May 2021 , after over six years together.
“GFRIEND will meet fans through a special project next January to celebrate their tenth debut anniversary,” Source Music said in a statement, per Korea JoongAng Daily . “The project was accomplished with the wishes from the members to present a precious memory to [GFFRIEND’s fans].” GFRIEND debuted under Source Music in 2015, releasing hits like ‘Rough’, ‘Navillera’, ‘Sunrise’ and more.
Their last release was the November 2020 studio album, ‘Walpurgis Night’, which featured the single ‘Mago’. Since their disbandment, members Eunha, SinB and Umji have gone on to form the girl group VIVIZ . On the other hand, Yerin and Yuju have perused solo careers in music, while Sowon has dabbled in acting.
Earlier this year, the members of GFRIEND reunited backstage at VIVIZ’s concert in Seoul , along with their former dance teacher and choreographer Park Jun-hee. In other K-pop news, BLACKPINK are set to release new music and head on a world tour next year , Y.
