Saturday, August 17, 2024 Starting Nov 10, 2024, Resorts World Cruises’ Genting Dream will dock at Melaka, enhancing trips to Kuala Lumpur with a historic touch. Resorts World Cruises is excited to reveal that starting November 10, 2024, the Genting Dream will use Melaka’s historic port as its entry point to Kuala Lumpur on its 2-night voyages from Singapore every Sunday. Known for its deep understanding of Asian destinations, the cruise line offers passengers a revamped journey with two stops in Melaka and the capital, Kuala Lumpur, extending the port stay from 10 to 12 hours.

This allows travelers ample time to explore Melaka before re-embarking. The Genting Dream will moor near Melaka, providing passengers breathtaking views of the coast and landscapes. From the ship, travelers can take a short tender ride along the Melaka River to the contemporary Immigration, Customs, Quarantine, and Security Complex (ICQS Complex).

A brief 15-minute stroll leads guests directly to Melaka’s heart, a UNESCO World Heritage Site adorned with Dutch Square’s red colonial structures and the bustling Jonker Street, renowned for its vibrant market scene, eateries, and cultural shows. Alternatively, passengers can opt for a riverboat tour right next to the ICQS Complex to witness the city’s rich historical tapestry shaped by Portuguese, Dutch, and British influences, along with mural art, parks, and lively shops lining the river. Every alternate Monday, travelers can embark from Melaka via the ICQS Complex, combining a Melaka stay with a One-Way 3 Night Cruise from Melaka to Singapore, Penang, and Kuala Lumpur via Port Klang.

Melaka’s prominence as a key Malaysian tourist spot has been further elevated by the appointment of renowned Chinese actress Fan Bingbing as the ambassador for ‘Visit Melaka Year 2024,’ attracting widespread attention from tourists worldwide. Cruising presents a comfortable alternative to road travel for reaching Melaka from Singapore. Melaka is a dynamic blend of cultures with a heritage that features ancient landmarks like the A’Famosa Fort, St.

Paul Church, the Baba & Nyonya Heritage Museum, and Cheng Ho Cultural Museum, as well as the 15th-century Ming Princess Hang Li Poh’s water well. Kuala Lumpur, just a few hours’ drive from Melaka, is a cultural melting pot with iconic sites such as KLCC towers, TRX Exchange, the historic Batu Caves, and the vibrant Central Market, a nexus for local arts and crafts. The city’s diverse street food perfectly reflects its multicultural population.

Onboard the Genting Dream, guests enjoy a plethora of amenities included in their cruise package like diverse international and Asian dining options, a Halal-friendly food section at The Lido, prayer rooms, a 1,000-seat Zodiac theatre, a water park, rope courses, ziplines, a rock-climbing wall, family entertainment, spas, duty-free shopping, and much more, ensuring an enriching and exciting sea voyage..
